Cancellation Policy

Learning English with James is a subsidiary of The Viridian Group LLC.

Please read this Cancellation Policy carefully before using the Learning English with James Platform and/or Services (as defined in our Terms of Service). If you do not accept this Cancellation Policy, in its entirety, you must not access or use the Learning English with James Platform and/or Services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any refunds at any time are at our sole discretion.

Reschedule your lesson or talk before starts

If you need to, you can reschedule your lesson or talk any time before it starts. To reschedule open your email confirming the appointment and click the Change/Cancel Appointment button. Once you have confirmed the new date and time you will receive a new email.

Cancelling your lesson or talk

We understand that unexpected circumstances may prevent you from attending your lesson.

Our Cancellation Policy has been written to ensure that you have a reasonable degree of flexibility, but we value our tutor's time and want to protect them against any last-minute change of plans. With this in mind, we have a 12-hour cancellation policy.

Lesson cancelled 12 hours before the scheduled time

You are able to cancel the lesson for free up to 12 hours before the scheduled time.

If you know in advance that you are unable to attend a lesson or talk, please try your best to reschedule or cancel your lesson at least 12 hours in advance. To cancel open your Lesson Scheduled email and click the Change/Cancel Appointment button. Once you have confirmed the cancellation you will receive an email saying your lesson has been cancelled.

If you cancel the lesson up to 12 hours before the scheduled time you receive a refund of the cost of the lesson. Learning English with James will process the refund within 48-hours of the scheduled time of the lesson, and send you an email confirming the refund. Learning English with James is not responsible for any kind of fee charged by banks or third-party payment processors, and will not cover it when initiating a refund. Refunds will show on your bank account as “SQ* Learning English with James”.

Lesson cancelled less than 12 hours before the scheduled time

Our tutors have a right to receive payments for lessons when students miss the lesson without prior notice.

You are able to cancel the lesson for free up to 12 hours before the scheduled time. After this time you will be charged the full cost of the lesson.

Students can still discuss with the tutor whether it is possible to reschedule/ cancel the lesson without charge. Please email james@leanwj.com your request, but the tutor reserves the right to make any decisions. In this case, you will be notified by email about being charged. You are able to file a dispute within 72 hours of being notified of the tutors decision.

Talk cancelled before the scheduled time

If you need to, you can cancel your talk any time before it starts. To cancel open your Talk Scheduled email and click the Change/Cancel Appointment button. Once you have confirmed the cancellation you will receive an email saying your talk has been cancelled.

Tutors cancelling or rescheduling a lesson or talk

Occasionally, based on the circumstances, tutors might cancel or reschedule a lesson or talk. If the tutor cancels your lesson you will be refunded the cost of the lesson. Learning English with James will process the refund within 48-hours of the lesson being cancelled, and send you an email confirming the refund. Learning English with James is not responsible for any kind of fee charged by banks or third-party payment processors, and will not cover it when initiating a refund. Refunds will show on your bank account as “SQ* Learning English with James”.

Be on time for your lesson or talk

Please always be on time for your lesson. Our tutors will wait a maximum of 15 minutes for you to join them after that they will go offline. As a result, you will be charged for this lesson.
